So yesterday we headed to Udo Island for my special trip. It was an hour and a half bus ride to the port and then just a 15 minute ferry to the island. We had a great day there.

After our time was up, we returned the scooter and walked to the beach. This was one of the beaches on our list of must visit beaches and is famous for the coral sand. It is often nicknamed "popcorn beach" because the sand looks like popcorn. It did. Also, it did not feel very good to walk on barefoot. We brought our own tube and had fun floating around and playing in the water for a couple hours.
After 5 or 6 hours on the island, we decided to call it a day. We were about to fall asleep on the beach and were getting quite burned. We have come to realize, sunscreen is rarely effective in a million percent humidity. Apparently, the skin never being completely dry lessens the lotions ability to actually stick to the skin and protect you.

And my lovely Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. Cliff picked a really cute one with lots of chocolate in it. It was delicious.
All in all, I had a great birthday. Cliff was awesome and made sure it was a special day even though we couldn't celebrate with other family or friends.
Nice cake! And that water looks clear! :)
